Well, if you weren’t stressed before all that, you certainly are now.

If possible, go into a garden or imagine going into a garden.  The nicest type of garden you can imagine.  Allow yourself to become quiet in the garden.

I can remember that I am not my thoughts nor am I what others think of, or expect of me; that is their stuff.

The clip is the wonderful Portsmouth Sinfonia murdering R Strauss’s Also Sprach Zarathustra, used in the film 2001 Space Odyssey.  I haven’t heard them for years – and I rather hope it will be years before my ears are assailed again.  Fortunately for all of us, they ceased performing in 1979.  If you look them up on Wikipedia you will find that originally they were a bunch of art students and the idea was to produce clouds of sound with the original well known tune discernable.  The musicians were either untrained or trained musicians playing an instrument different to their usual one, so a violinist would play the trumpet, for example.  The band had to rehearse and had to try to get it right, so it was not intentionally funny.  For a while Brian Eno played with them and several composers were very interested in the whole concept.  Should your ears not be bleeding from listening to the above, you can track down more of their cloud sounds on Youtube.
